

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia Christopher, and by his parents, Louis and Christine Christopher. He is survived by his loving daughters, Christina Christopher Teeter (Tim) and Caroline Patricia Christopher; his cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Avery Teeter; and his brother, George Christopher.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Nick graduated from the University of Michigan, earning both his undergraduate and medical degrees and completing his residency there. He then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
In 1969, Nick moved his family to Washington, D.C., where he practiced medicine for 50 years. He served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Sibley Memorial Hospital and later as Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff.
Nick retired from medical practice in 2009. His patients, deeply appreciative of his care and compassion, compiled a book of letters expressing what he meant to them.
Nick will be profoundly missed by his family and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gawler’s Funeral Home.
A private burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Doctors Without Borders.
