I worked with Dr. Corso for 15 years at the Washington Hospital Center. He was my favorite Cardiac surgeon with whom to scrub. When my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, she wanted to come to WHC to receive her surgery and treatment. Her insurance company was blocking our attempts to get the company to cover her "out of network" treatment. After two weeks of frustration and almost hopelessness, I went to Dr. Corso and told him of my sister's problem. Within one day my sister's insurance company notified us that they would cover her treatment at WHC. I will forever be grateful to him for his concern and assistance. Because of the care she received at WHC, she has been cancer-free for over 20 years. She is alive today largely because of Dr. Corso's help.

We would like to offer our condolences to you Mrs. Corso. Your husband saved my husband's life 10 years ago after my husband suffered a thoracic aortic aneurysm which ruptured and dissected. Your husband did 8 1/2 hours of open heart surgery on him and then provided amazing care to him and to our entire family in the days and months that followed. As a nurse myself, I was so touched by his incredible knowledge and skill as a surgeon, but also by his humility and kindness toward my husband. Janice Wolf is a family friend of ours as well and I know how amazing your husband was to her as a boss, but also as a friend. We are so grateful to you for sharing him with us and for all he did for our family.
May God give you His comfort and peace.

Dr. Corso saved our father's life, for which I will be eternally grateful. About ten years ago, our father collapsed due to a ruptured aortic valve. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where luckily Dr. Corso's team performed open heart surgery. Our dad had several life threatening complications during his three months hospital stay, but thanks to Dr. Corso he is still enjoying life today. I vividly remember frequently meeting Dr. Corso to discuss our dad's condition and treatment plan. Dr. Corso impressed us with both his patience and his medical skill. Dr. Corso admitted our dad was a very tough case, but he and his awesome medical team refused to give up. We extend our heartfelt condolences to you Ms. Corso, and will never forget the brilliant and compassionate medical care provided by Dr. Corso.

My sympathy to you, Karen. I am so saddened by your loss. I remember house sitting for you and Paul during your European ski trips back in the early 1980's. When my former father in law had his heart attack, I knew help was just a phone call away and Dr Corso eased the entire process of getting him into WHC and cared for. Nancy Barton
