Hard to believe that it has been 5 years since you left us. We think about you often and share a Rhett story that always brings a smile!

Felt like I was channeling my professor and friend as I argued against sexism today and pulled a slew of French Revolution examples out of the air. I even remembered the term "tricoteuse" AND could hear his loud voice instructing our class on how to pronounce it correctly, so I know he'd be proud. My last semester at Marymount was all women's history with him and that class was quite the experience. I may never get to sit in on his classes again, or delay my own graduation so that I can take his and only his subjects, but every minute with him, learning or goofing off, was worth a hundred more with someone else.

awww... I think about him too with sweet sorrow..the sweetness is that i was privileged to know him... and to share depth and love, and the sorrow is the loss of the physical ability to continue that...

Time makes it distant, not easier. You remain in my thoughts and in my heart.

I hated to miss Rhett's memorial a couple of Sundays ago at the Lafayette. Kudos to Reggie, our Property Manager, for assisting in honoring him. I think so often of the Professor, as we called him, since we are in his condo now. I visualize him in his study with his books with sweet Beth close by. I can still see him walking down D Street with Beth, always having time to talk about our latest restaurant venture, how he enjoyed the grand opening of each party, his love of where he had traveled and his favorites there...just always so much fun and a great way to start the day saying hello every morning and lots of evenings. Just the happiest, kindest person. I miss you Professor and I do hope Beth is being given all the love & attention you gave her. I wish I knew how she was doing. Truly he was the Mayor of Penn Quarter!
