Richard Schwartz, Chairman and Founder of BoatUS, which became the nation's most effective advocacy organization for advancing the interests of boaters, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 85. A resident of Arlington, Virginia, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Beth Newberger Schwartz; children, Diane Schwartz and husband Jim, Lori Schwartz and husband Chris, Pamela Schwartz and husband Joel, Mark Newberger and wife Ruth, Lori Marks and husband Scott, Eric Newberger and wife Jennifer, Jill McCowan and husband Frank; 16 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at The Kreeger Theater of the Arena Stage, 1101 6th Street SW, Washington, DC 20024.
