Mr. Storch was such a wonderful person.  He put a smile on my face everytime I saw him.  He is greatly missed.

Dear Pam and family--I am so terribly sorry to hear about Dick's passing. We in Waterford will always remember his support of and generosity to the village of Waterford and the Waterford Foundation, and his love of the village. Many of the buildings in Waterford are a tribute to his stewardship. We will always be grateful that you rescued and restored to absolute perfection the Hague-Hough House, the most beautiful place in Waterford.

One of my favorite memories of Dick was when he once told me about working on family genealogy one Saturday night in Waterford. He discovered one of his great-great-great grandfathers way back had actually lived in Waterford. Smiling broadly, he described racing up the stairs yelling, "Pam! Pam!" to tell you his exciting news, scaring you in the process.

He loved sharing your beautiful home with people. In fact, I remember my first meeting with him was during the Waterford Fair before I lived here. I was thrilled that the owner was actually meeting and talking to people who went through the house. I was also there when he opened the house to the Decorative Arts Trust for a tour. I have always felt I missed out on the party of the century when you had a party for the village one winter evening after a concert. I was in New Zealand for a family wedding, but I always wished I could have gone to that party. Everyone told me how spectacular it was going up the drive and seeing the house all lit up, and how beautiful it was inside with candlelight and the most delicious food ever. Only a trip to NZ would have kept me away.

I will also remember Dick's thoughtfulness. During one of the open houses, he was out in his golf cart driving older people up and down the driveway. When I organized a garden tour and helped with an auction, he was a very generous supporter. 

Although I did not see him often, I will never forget him. He always helped out with our events and projects and had time for a chat at the post office. He was such a gift to Waterford. I know you and your family will miss him very, very much. My heart goes out to all of you.
