A mutual  friend recently shared the absolutely shocking, and very sad news of your Fathers passing. He was one of the most interesting, humorous and kind human beings I've ever known. He will be so dearly missed. In thinking of you all today, I'm guessing this profound loss is powerful. 

Andrea, Pablo and Thomas. Your Father loved you all so dearly. The ways he spoke about each of you was remarkable really. His caring words were also deeply laced respect and understanding. You may not remember me, I  met you each briefly in Montana over a few years. 

Andrea, as your lovely daughter said in her eulogy of her Grandfather, he will be always with you. And he will.  He touched the lives of so many.  His  words and ways will be remembered by those countless others, like me, whose lives have been enriched by knowing that this world can produce men like your Father. 

Robert Raymond Elliott was a very special, unique man who cared about doing good. And he did.

I was the President of Protect and with the gracious help we received from Bob, we were successful in defeating Disney.  He was an Icon. 

I last saw Bob for lunch at Gallery Place under an awning in the rain in early August.  Amazingly we stayed dry and had a lot of laughs, too.  He leaves quite a legacy (mostly recently aiming to help an Afghani refugee family in Buffalo).  His selflessness was an inspiration to me.  He will be missed.

Dan and I are saddened to here of Robert's passing!Our hearts go out to Andrea, Pueblo, David ,Tom and the rest of the family! May God give you his peace at this time. Robert was a special man, we have many fond memories of Robert at family get together's  , and his special devotion to Aunt Evie. Mom ( Millie Miller) told me she can't get over Robert's passing. She was so very proud of him, and always made sure everyone new he was her God son!

Robert has always been supportive of us when we first purchased a condo in Georgetown from him.  He was a source of knowledge and advice when we had occasional difficulties with tenants.  We were privileged to have him stay one night at our house and treat him at a nice Italian restaurant here in New Jersey after he drove back from Montana.  This is really shocking that he's gone; we thought that he was going to be with us for a while.  May Robert rest in peace.

The last time I met Robert was in 2011 when I was visiting my aunt Esther. We talked a bit, and he invited me to spend a day or two in Washington with him.

I'm a distant relative, and this was the second time I met him, so I remember feeling a bit nervous about that trip. I had those will-we-find-something-to-talk-about thoughts, and I also felt insecure about my English.

All my fears vanished when I got in his car - we immediately started talking about something, and our conversation flew.

I had a great day with him - we talked a lot, he showed me some of his favourite areas in the city. And he did all that with genuine interest and joy.

I will remember him with deep affection and gratitude.

We’re so sorry to hear of Robert’s passing.  Sending our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to the Elliott family.

I met Bob through his family.  Loved the no nonsense personality with a side of caring/ loving!   Last year I witnessed his dance moves during a party and the man sure can cut the rug!

He was kind enough to share some  wisdom and am grateful to have known him. I will cherish the memories!  To all the Elliott’s…our thought and prayers! 

Bob was truly a Renaissance Man.  I met Bob through the financing of one of his properties and while financing his properties he was raising cattle out West and doing organic farming with his son in the Virginia.  Bob was always onto the next project with his usual energy and intellectual curiosity.    In fact we had lunch in June and he showed  me the wall he painted  (himself) on N Street!  He was a good friend and I will miss him.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bob and the Elliott family for several decades . Bob was a brilliant man as well as being dedicated to his family . I enjoyed our chats , sharing of ideas and 
His many insights . I will miss him . He certainly lived a full and productive life. Now it’s time to rest  In peace Bob

When I served as Secretary of Housing & Urban Development in President Ford's Administration, Bob served as General Council.  I could not ask for a more able, dedicated and effective team member.  He remained a friend over the  intervening years.  He will be sorely missed by all of us who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing him. I have known Robert for many years, working as an architect for the conversion of Georgetown Madelon, on furniture at his home in DC, and on the addition to his Virginia house. But it was the friendship that developed over time that I fondly remember.
He shared his broad knowledge, was proud of his children, and was full of ideas. Robert was never without a new thought and a new “adventure.” He followed through on many of them.
I will miss the special connection we shared.

I enjoyed working with Bob for 10 years.  We brought great nightlife back to Georgetown together.  He was practical and creative.  A wise man.  

We will miss you Bob.
