On Saturday, December 17, 2016 Shirlee Kogod Ornstein of Washington, DC passed away. Beloved wife of the late Ervin W. Ornstein, devoted mother of Suzy Ornstein Fleming, Nancy J. Ornstein and Stephen F. Ornstein; cherished grandmother of Alexandra Fleming and Chip Fleming, and loving sister of Betty Joan Burr of Palm Beach, FL and the late Ruth K. Goldman and Mildred Sternberg.
A second generation native of Washington, DC, Shirlee was a happy, vivacious woman who enjoyed every moment of her life. She was a fabulous and adored wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral Services will be held at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St. NW Washington, DC at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016; with interment following at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, Clarksburg, MD. Shiva will be observed at the residence of Suzy Fleming from 6 to 9 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan Komen for the Cure.
