Passed away peacefully from intestinal complications on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Eleanor Little Roberts; three daughters, André Roberts Koester of Bronxville, NY, Elizabeth Roberts Dalgard of Chevy Chase, MD and Elinor Roberts of Brooklyn, NY; two step-children, Laura Lombard of Brooklyn, NY and John Lombard of Northampton, MA; five grandsons, William Koester, Thomas Koester, Samuel Koester, James Koester and Owen Dalgard; two step - grandchildren, Madeleine Lombard and Luke Lombard; his sister, Emily Roberts Gay of Memphis, TN; and two nieces; Neville Gay Williams of Memphis, TN and Sara Gay Guyton of Jacksonville, FL. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 3115 "P" Street N.W., Washington, DC 20007 followed by a reception in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garth Newel Music Center, P.O. Box 240, Warm Springs, VA 24484 or a charity of the donor's choice .
