Wayne and I decided to 'find' Halley's Comet and drove at dawn toward Upper Marlboro MD.  Because the comet hugged the horizon at that hour, we had a hard time finding an unobstructed view.  After an hour or so tramping around suburbia, Wayne solved our problem by finding a farm with fields that stretched to the horizon.  Our next problem was persuading a man with a gun that we were scientists on a mission...

I remember Wayne as one of the kindest people I ever met and a wonderful bridge partner.  I remember him telling the story of a friend who had died whose life Wayne had made happier by getting him involved in tennis.  Wayne threw a can of tennis balls in the grave, just to keep him company.

I hope someone gives Wayne a deck of cards.
