Yvette Helena Escudero left this world on June 14, 2026 after a brief illness and the world is better for her having been in it. Yvette, a true daughter of Washington, D.C., was born in Georgetown University Hospital June 18, 1966. She was a dedicated alumna of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and a graduate of Mount Vernon College. Yvette loved the theater, beach, fashion, and great restaurants. Yvette also was an avid consumer of professional sports, especially tennis, golf, and Commanders football. She was an incredible hostess, having friends and family around her table for lively dinner parties followed by competitive board and card games. However, Yvette’s true passion was her family.
During her last days, Yvette was surrounded by her four sisters Monique Kadnar (Norman), Paulette Harris (Todd), Michelle Escudero (Scott Kane) and Nicole Christenson (Cass). Yvette was an incredibly, fiercely loving aunt to her seven nieces and nephews—Cole and Grace Christenson, Thomas and William Harris, Magdalena Escudero-Kane, and Mario and Sullivan Kadnar. Yvette was a devoted daughter to her mother, Grace Tamm Escudero, and a devoted granddaughter to her grandparents Grace and Edward Allen Tamm and Minnie and Mario Escudero, all of whom welcomed her into heaven.
Yvette’s Catholic faith and Sacred Heart education influenced her life deeply and was demonstrated through her devotion to family and friends.
Yvette’s life will be celebrated at a funeral mass at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Washington, DC on June 22, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Yvette’s name to Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart , 9101 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20814.
