

Mrs. Zsuzsanna Takacs, recently of Kensington, Maryland died April 25th at Casey House hospice in Rockville Maryland. She was 87.
Mrs. Takacs, was born Zsuzsanna Maria Göllner, in Budapest, Hungary to András and Edith Göllner. She was the eldest of three very close siblings including her sister Katalin and her brother Andrew.
Fleeing the Communist oppression, the family emigrated to Montréal, Canada in 1956, where Mrs. Takács helped to support her family through various jobs before eventually securing a position at the Bank of Montréal.
She met and married Jozsef Takacs in 1964 and subsequently moved to the United States, first to New York City and thereafter to Washington D.C., where she worked for a time as a bookkeeper at the Brawner Company, before eventually starting her own bookkeeping business which she maintained until 2023. She was a dedicated and active member of the Hungarian emigre community of Washington D.C.
Mrs. Takacs was a devoted mother to her two sons, Paul and Peter and a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren, Olivia, Zsofi, and Emma. She is survived by them and her brother Andrew Göllner of Montréal, Canada.
