Al C. Paradie of Blooming Grove, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at home. He was 72.
He was born in Woodsville, NH on June 10, 1937 to Theodore and Madeline (Bassett) Paradie.
Al was a General Contractor in the Construction Industry. He was a member of Orange County Right to Life, 3rd degree member of Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Washingtonville, member of the nocturnal Adoration of St. Mary’s Church as well as a parishioner, past member of Mt. Lodge Fire Co. and member of the prison ministry.
Family statement: Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was our teacher, educator, and friend and set a great example for all. He was always there for family and friends to lend a helping hand. He was affectionately known as Pepe. He has inspired us.
Al was the husband of Laurie M. (Taylor) Paradie of Blooming Grove, who survives him; he is also survived by his sons, Allen T. and his wife, Dawn M. Paradie of Washingtonville and Mark L. Paradie of Blooming Grove; daughters, Tammy L. and her husband, Edward P. Lyons of Blooming Grove and Christina M. and her husband, Dennis Lyons of Monroe, NY; brothers, Charlie and his wife, Kathy Paradie of Wallingford, CT and John and his wife, Gerry Paradie of Nashua, NH; sisters, Priscilla Boutin of Benton, NH, Mary Patterson of W. Thompson, VT, and Anne and her husband, Dave King of Coco Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Nuc Paradie of Houston, TX and Shirley and her husband, Roger Bowley of Barre, VT; 15 grandchildren: Tawlor, Madeline, Jack, Mark, Sarah, Nicholas, Heather, Trevor, Michelle, Derek, Dennis, Travis, Christopher, Sean and David. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Paradie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, from 7-9 p.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 13, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Washingtonville, NY. Cremation is private.
