Antonio D Goncalves

Antonio Dantes Goncalves, a resident of Tamiment and a longtime resident of Washingtonville, passed away on July 26, 2023. He was 95. Antonio was born on February 19, 1928 in Paredes do Vale, Portugal to the late Domingo Jose and Maria (Dantes) Goncalves. He served in the Korean Conflict while in the United States Army. Upon his return from the military he joined his father in establishing a bread business which he ran for more than 40 years. Antonio also joined the Masons rising to the rank of Grand Master. He loved his adopted country and was very proud to be an American.

He is survived by his five children and their spouses: Lucy and John, Maria and Andres, Purita, Manny and Wanda, Antonia and Ray, and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren

He was predeceased by Pura, his beloved wife of 60 years and his son-in-law Bob..

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1 from 4-8pm at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2 at the funeral at 11am. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 100 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY 10579.
