Arleen F. Laurencell

Arleen Frances (Garvey) Laurencell of Rock Tavern, NY passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY at the age of 58. Daughter of the late James E. and Louise M. (Smith) Garvey, she was born August 18, 1953, in Brooklyn, NY. Survivors include her husband, Donald M. Laurencell, her daughter, Marianne L. Kiss and her husband Alex; son, Thomas Laurencell and his wife Heather with soon to be granddaughter Harper Arleen; daughter, Andrea Laurencell and her fiancé Tim Sheridan; brother, James Garvey and his wife Barbara; sister, Virginia Stewart and her husband Donald; Sister, Lorraine Garvey and her husband Ed Burkauskas; sister, Veronica Garvey and her husband Dan Kinch; brother, John Garvey as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Janet Laurencell, Robin and her husband Clint and Suzanne Laurencell Hatch. Arleen was a beloved member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Where she was the Parish Administrator for 25 years. At the time of her death she served as senior warden of the Parish, the lay elected leader. She served many terms as clerk, vestry person and warden. She taught at Little People’s Preschool, was a Girl Scout Leader and worked at the Girl Scout Shop for Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council and Girls Scout Heart of the Hudson in Middletown, NY. Arleen was a Co-Coordinator with her husband at Shepherd’s Kitchen lunch program in Newburgh, NY. Her greatest joys were her family, her church and her friends. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Tuesday, May 22 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 179 E. Main Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 23 at St. Anne’s. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anne’s Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
