Arthur R. Backer

Arthur R. "Randy" Backer of Cornwall, NY entered into rest on June 14, 2012 at home. He was 68. Arthur was born in Staten Island, NY on March 25, 1944 to Arthur Backer and Audrey Baker. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. Deis. Arthur was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved photography and books. Randy worked as a clerk for the American Stock Exchange. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth M. Backer of New Windsor; sons, Brian S. and his wife, Malissa Backer of Allen, TX and David I. Backer of New Windsor; brothers, Thomas and his wife, Sharon Backer of Long Island, NY, David and his wife, Mary Backer of Long Island, John Backer of Texas and Raymond Backer of California; sisters, Patricia Hurley of Long Island, Audrey Lynn Koehler of Long Island and Tina Backer and Louie Natale of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughter, Bridget Backer, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Arliss. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 19 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 19, 11 a.m. at St. Thomas of Canterbury in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Cremation is Private. Arrangements under the care of Thomas A.
