It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Bloemink, who passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, just three days shy of his 66th birthday. Born on December 25, 1958, Bruce lived a life full of passion, generosity, and a boundless love for those around him.
A dedicated father, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Lacey Huth, and his devoted sister, Linda Cain. He also held a special place in his heart for the Estevez family, who were a central part of his life, and for the many caring friends whose names are too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his wife, Lisa Bloemink, who will be forever missed. Bruce's love for his family and friends was profound and unwavering. He was known for his kind spirit, generosity, and the genuine connections he made with everyone he met. He was the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and was known for putting others first, often going out of his way to assist family, friends, and even strangers. Bruce's ability to make people feel valued and appreciated was one of his many gifts.
As an auto technician, there was nothing Bruce couldn't fix. He had a natural gift for understanding how things worked and could repair just about anything—whether it was a car, a motorcycle, or any other mechanical device. His passion for all things with wheels was unmatched, and he found great joy in working on engines and drag racing. His love for the roar of an engine was only rivaled by his admiration for the music of Pink Floyd, which always seemed to echo in the background of his truck or home.
Bruce loved the winter and snow. He reveled in the quiet beauty of a fresh snowfall. He lived by the philosophy that life should be enjoyed, and he found happiness in the things that made him feel most alive—whether it was his love of cars, his appreciation for music, or the joy of being with those he loved. Bruce's kind heart, incredible generosity, and selflessness made him the perfect father, the perfect friend, and a perfect person to be around. His legacy is one of love and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held for family and close friends to celebrate Bruce's life on January 11, 2025 1:00 - 4:00 PM at David Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hudson Valley SPCA, as he and his daughter shared a love for animals.
Bruce may be gone, but his spirit and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
A memorial visitation for Bruce will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992, followed by a prayer service at 4:00 PM.
