David Wei Chin

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, David Chin. David, age 58, passed away on November 18, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was a resident of Blooming Grove, NY for over 20 years.

David was born on January 4, 1967 in New York, NY. He was the son of Shui Wan and Walter Chin, and the older brother of Andrew Chin.

He graduated from Holy Cross High School in Flushing, NY, in 1985, and then went on to attend New York University. He graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. David worked as a Product Support Analyst with ComputerShare for the past 32 years.

David met his loving wife Sara on October 31, 1997. The two were married on May 20, 2000. They had one daughter, Emily.

David was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a Star Wars and Disney fan, and frequently vacationed to Walt Disney World with his family.

David is survived by his wife Sara Chin; his daughter Emily Chin; his mother Shui Wan Chin; his brother Andrew Chin, his wife Peggy, and their children Amanda and Ethan; his sister-in-law Lisa Martello, her husband Pasquale, and their children Gaby, Kathryn, and Rebecca; his brother-in-law Mark Holzmann and his wife Katherine; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Walter Chin.

Visitation will be on November 24, 2025 from 4-8pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street,Washingtonville NY. Funeral services will be on November 25, 2025 at 11am, also at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home.
