

On Wednesday, September 13th 2023, the world of Dennis Wilken's family was turned upside down when he, suddenly, passed away after a few short months of a brave battle with cancer. Dennis V. Wilken was born in Bayshore, New York on July 23, 1975 and was just 48 years old. Dennis was predeceased by his loving parents William and Virginia.
Dennis's passing is an unimaginable loss for his life partner, best friend, and soulmate Kristen and all of his family and friends. Dennis's Son Collin, who he loved so very much. Collin's mother, Nikki. Julia and Madyson whose hearts are completely broken and will, forever, feel his loss. Dennis's loving brothers, Billy and his wife Renee, Greg and his wife Tina, and Adam. Nieces, Megan and Billy 3rd. Cousins Danny, Julie, Paula, Jude, and Ben. Elizabeth DeVinko, Stephen Smith, Marissa Martirano and Tommy Martirano, and Dennis's best friend Jason Gannon. Tom and Maureen DeVinko whose hearts are absolutely shattered at the loss of their amazing boy who they loved as a son. Dennis's many friends at the Hook & Ladder and VFW Post 8691 in Washingtonville where he loved shooting darts and playing bingo each week. Dennis's beloved pups, Cooper, Mia, Fiona, and Sabrina who are feeling all of our pain and missing him so much.
Dennis was a dedicated hard worker as the Operator Engineer and Foreman at Elecnor Hawkeye for over 20 years where he was an essential part of the team and beloved by everyone. Dennis loved his job and the people he worked with and was so grateful for their unending support during these difficult past few months. His caring and incredible bosses, Ruben Noya and Gary Misner. Dennis's crew, Kristen, Keneil, Johnny, Jonathan, Hasan, and Louis are the most exceptional individuals who made his job a great place to go everyday. Kierin Cunningham, his right hand man, who stepped in as acting foreman during the months that Dennis was recovering from his surgery and cancer care. He will, truly, be missed by all.
Dennis was a force of nature and, truly, one of a kind. He impacted so many lives with his love, humor, unending quick wit, caring heart, loyalty, and work ethic. Dennis lit up every room he walked into and a huge part of our family and his passing has left an enormous empty hole in all of our lives that will be impossible to fill. We loved our boy so very much and cannot imagine ever being able to recover from the immense pain in our hearts caused by his sudden passing.
A visitation for Dennis V. will be held Monday, September 18, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A cremation will be private for the family.
