Eddie was born to Dorothy Ethel Ryan and Edwin James Webber, and was lovingly raised in Inwood, NY by his grandparents, Edward and Alice Ryan. At age 20, Eddie was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served with honor, spending a year in Vietnam from August 1966 to August 1967.
Upon returning, he resumed his career in the Theaters on Broadway, where he worked on numerous productions. He served as Head Electrician at the Nederlander Theater, the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, and ultimately the Broadway Palace Theatre, where he remained until his retirement on October 31, 2015.
In retirement, Eddie enjoyed his time at the shooting range, relaxing by the pool, upgrading his home theater with the latest sound and entertainment systems, and spending holidays with Lori, Mike and the whole Pacella family who lovingly called him “Grampa Eddie”. He loved catching up with friends over dinner and made the most of his well-earned rest.
Eddie was predeceased by his loving wife of 25 years, Suzi, and by his son, Rich Hyams. He is survived by his daughter Lori Pacella and her husband Mike, his daughter-in-law Lisa Hyams, and his cherished grandchildren: Keri Pacella (Steven), Nick Pacella (Lauren), and Jacqui Hyams. He is also survived by his sisters, Penny Mezzapelli (Tony) and Cathy Koeppen (Rod), along with their families.
Eddie will be remembered for his wit, loyalty, and quiet strength. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family who stood by him in every chapter of his life.
