Emil Stanley Duda, a resident of Washingtonville, NY, since 1966 entered into rest on September 30, 2014 at home with his family by his side, He was 91. Emil was born in Garfield, NJ on November 27, 1922, to Joseph and Caroline Wos Duda. Emil was the husband of Wilhelmina M. Zym Duda. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A WWII Army Air Corp Veteran, he was a radio operator with the Air Transport Command, he served in North Africa and the Mid-East Theater. A member of the Disabled American Veterans, Life member and past Commander AMVETS in Garfield, NJ, A charter member of VFW Post 8691 of Washingtonville, NY, Life member BPO Elks 1097 of Middletown, NY. Emil was the owner of Paulison Rentals in Clifton, NJ and Stewarts Carhop Drive-in in Vails Gate. He is survived by his loving wife Wilhelmina at home; sons, Emil (Zeke) and his wife Jane Duda of Rochester, NY and Bruce Duda of Washingtonville, NY; grandchildren, Joseph and his wife Lee of Bangkok, Thailand, Janelle and her husband Rob Banwar and Kayleigh and her husband Alex Usachev both of Rochester, NY; great-granddaughter, Oriana Duda of Bangkok, Thailand. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm with a Service at 8pm at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St Washingtonville, NY.
Cremation will be private. Inurnment of Emil’s ashes will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations in Emil’s name can be made to both Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties 800 Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550 or VFW Post 8691 44 East Main St. Washingtonville, NY 10992
