

Francis J. Sullivan of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest at home, with his family by his side, on November 30, 2011. He was 78. Francis was born in the Bronx on January 18, 1933 to Lawrence and Margaret Murray Sullivan.
He was the loving husband of Ellen M. Corry for 53 years. Francis was an adoring father, grandfather and uncle. Francis was a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Curlew during the Korean War, who also served in the National Guar, a member of Millwright Local 740, a supervisor Mechanic with Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority, member of the VFW post 8691 of Washingtonville, member of the AOH Joseph Duelk Div 1 of Monroe, member and Past Fire Commissioner of Independence Fire Company of South Blooming Grove, NY, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Council 5890 of Washingtonville, Francis coached Soccer for Washingtonville Soccer League and Girls Softball in the Monroe Girls Softball League.
He is survived by wife, Ellen M. Sullivan of Washingtonville; his children: Eileen Sullivan, of Cos Cob, CT, Geraldine Petersen and husband, Bill of Monroe, NY, Hanora Sullivan, of Washingtonville, NY, Margaret Sullivan and Gus Thompson of Hollyhill, FL, Catherine Hacker and husband, Charles of Greenwich CT, John L. Sullivan and wife, Mirella of New Hampton, NY, Marie Moran and husband, Chris of Monroe, NY, Michael Sullivan and wife, Lisa of Slate Hill, NY, Annmarie Vohl of Walden, NY, Therese Sullivan of Salisbury Mills, NY, Patrice Sullivan of New York, NY; grandchildren: Desiree McNamara and husband, Barry of Dublin, Ireland, William, Maureen and Stephen Petersen, Kevin Sullivan, Renee Dayton, Catrina, Charlotte, Carys, and Claire Hacker, Julia and Jayne Sullivan, Shane and Tara Moran, Abigail, Gillian, and Patrick Sullivan, Samantha, Madison, and Trinity Vohl; great-grandchildren, Jaeda Lisi, Elizabeth McNamara; brother, John L. Sullivan of Stony Point, NY; sisters-in-law: Hanora Martin, Marie Kristiansen, Therese Cooperstein, Ann Lombardi; brothers-in-law, Father Francis Corry and Joseph Corry, and many nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by one sister, Sister Kevin Marie O.P. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home in Washingtonville, NY from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St Mary’s Church, Washingtonville.
