Grace Anna Stevens “Gracie”, age 78, a resident of Montgomery, NY passed away on Saturday, February 26th after a heroic bout with Leukemia. Born in Goshen, NY, she was the daughter of the late Grace A. and Charles E. Stevens. Grace was a graduate of Maybrook High School which is now Valley Central High School and New York Cosmetology School. With a loving feisty spirit, she raised two boys and cherished with all her heart two stepchildren. She has six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Gracie was a loving and caring sole who lived life to the fullest; she spent her days in the company of family, friends, and neighbors(whom she treated/regarded as extended family in so many ways). Grace was an office manager for a renowned urologist for over 30 years until retirement in 2006. An animal lover to the core she enjoyed all the various pets; whether finned, scaled, or furry; that her children brought into the home. She always had her little King Charles Caviler GG by her side. Spending time with her family outdoors either camping, fishing, or participating in athletic team sports were true joys. Grace used her unique sense of humor to bring joy and laughter to those she loved. Grace is survived by her loving husband George of 58 years, two beautiful sisters, Shirley and Mary of Maybrook, NY, cousins Wilbur and Mary-Beth of Newburg, NY along with nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and distant cousins that are too many to name but loved so deeply each and every one.
