Herbert H. Ackerson

Herbert H. Ackerson of Campbell Hall, NY entered into rest on November 20, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, NY. He was 82. Herbert was born in Ramsey, NJ on October 29, 1929 to Charles and Ruth (Neider) Ackerson. He was a Navy Veteran who loved woodworking, stripping and refinishing furniture as well as baking and cooking. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Meat Cutting Local. Herb was a generous fun loving man, and as such had many long lasting friendships. He will be missed by many and will always be loved and thought of by friends and family. He is survived by his former wife, Peggy Kirkpatrick of Washingtonville, NY; Sons, Michael and his wife Christine Ackerson of Apache Junction, AZ and Herb Ackerson of Carlsbad, CA; daughter, Debra R. Jonigan of Liberty, NY; brother, Dick and his wife Maureen Ackerson of Manahawkin, NJ; grandchildren, Ian and Anthony Ackerson as well as many nieces and nephews. Herbert was predeceased by one brother, Charlie Ackerson and three sisters, Betty, Ruthann and Eleanor. Cremation is private. Arrangements under the care of Michael S. Trimble of the David T.
