Ilene Rivera of Swan Lake, NY entered into rest on August 19, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. She was 54.

She was born in Queens, NY on May 24, 1956 to Martin and Pauline Cohen.

Ilene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a loving daughter and sister who was a caretaker to all her family and friends, she always put others above herself and was first to listen when you needed a friend. Ilene adored all animals. She will be dearly missed by all.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Westchester Medical Center for the impeccable care they provided to her.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Irwin of Swan Lake; sons, Ralph Rivera and his wife, Desiree Rivera of Monroe, NY and Mathew Rivera of Liberty, NY;daughters, Marissa Rivera of Yonkers, NY and Lauren Irwin of Liberty, NY; mother, Pauline Cohen of Oak Park, IL; sister, Annette Cohen and her husband, Gregg Kitzis of Oak Park, IL; grandchildren, Giovanni Rivera and Marques Martin Fields; uncle, Joseph Kutler of Queens; and two nephews, Daniel and Lee Kitzis of Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by her father, Martin Cohen.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, from 2-6 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 6 p.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY. Cremation will be private.
