

James “Jimmy” Nodhturft passed away on April 21st 2022 at the age of 61. He was surrounded by family and friends who loved him very much. Jimmy was a resident of Washingtonville and a member of the VFW where he spent many evenings hanging with friends and playing pool.
For 20+ years, He lived in Hollywood Florida where he worked as a commercial and residential painter. He then established himself as a self employed painter in the Rockland and Orange County, but through recommendations he painted for many people in the surrounding areas.
Throughout his life, Jimmy enjoyed outdoor hobbies such as hunting and fishing. Many of these trips he spent with his brothers, uncles and nephews. Every year the family looked forward to the annual fishing trip to the Adirondacks.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter (Katie), son in-law (Jesse) and grandson (Thomas), his brother (John and Melody Nodhturft), Sister (Eileen Nodhturft), Brother (Bobby and Nadine Nodhturft), Sister in law (Barbara Nodhturft) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother (Michael Nodhturft), his sister (Cathy Nodhturft), his niece Dina Swift and his Parents, (Eileen Eichner and John Nodhturft).
Jimmy was a proud father and doting grandfather to his Grandson Tommy. He couldn’t have been more happy to have a grandson and to teach him all about fishing and hunting.
Family was incredibly important to Jimmy and continuing traditions and making memories was something he made sure to continue. He always had a great bond with his Aunt (Mary Leavey) and her husband (Chris Leavey), his Uncles (Raymond, Dennis and Willie) and many cousins.
Jimmy was quiet but kind and would always be the first one to help. He cherished cherished every moment with family. He was a good friend, very loyal and and easy to talk to. He was a simple man but very special to all who knew him.
