Jim was born December 3, 1956 in Dobbs Ferry, New York to John and Helen (Mendonca) Roth. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Niagara University in 1979. He had a successful State Farm Insurance Agency for 25 years in Washingtonville, New York.
Preceded by his parents John and Helen (Mendonca) Roth, and siblings John F. Roth and Alice Roth Wendolski. Survived by his loving wife (of 40 years) Jeanne , son Brian, as well as his grandchil-dren, the joys of his life, Ashlynn and Lukas. Jim also leaves behind his two brothers; Thomas (Eileen) and Matthew (Stacey) as well as a large extended family, including 17 nieces and nephews.
Jim was an avid sports fan, with an impressive collection of sports memorabilia. His beloved New York Giants and New York Yankees have lost their biggest fan. He especially loved the time he spent at his Florida home golfing and enjoying his retirement.
If there was one thing Jim was, it was determined. No matter what the challenge or obstacle, he gave his all to make sure he exceeded expectations. He will be remembered for his uncanny ability to touch peoples lives, unfailing work ethic, entertaining sense of humor and trivia, generosity, intelli-gence, his love of life, and for being such a great friend to so many.
He leaves a huge hole in our hearts, but his memory will be cherished and kept alive by his family and large group of friends. Whenever you hear music by his favorite band, the Allman Brothers, smile and think of him.
Our sincere and everlasting gratitude to the staff of hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided him in his final days. The support and kindness they gave to us during such a diffi-cult time will never be forgotten.
