Jane A. Cook, 81, of Washingtonville, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 5, 1943, in Washingtonville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Harriet (Dixon) Freeman.
Jane dedicated many years of her professional life as a Processing Engineer at I.B.M. in Fishkill, NY. She was known for her intelligence, diligence, and quiet strength both at work and in her personal life.
In her younger years, Jane enjoyed bowling and remained active and engaged throughout her life. She was an avid reader, a passionate gardener, and loved traveling throughout the United States. She also found joy in playing Mahjong, a favorite pastime she often shared with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Brandon A. Cook, and daughter, Cynthia Jacobson.
Jane is survived by her devoted husband, Fred D. Cook, Jr., and her loving sisters, Harriet Adams and Hannah Sparks. She also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. Burial will follow at Washingtonville Cemetery, also on North Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s memory may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
Jane will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.
