John LoMeli

John LoMeli went home peacefully to the Lord on January 13, 2017 with his loving wife and children at his side. He was born in the Bronx to his predeceased parents, Grace and Pat LoMeli. John married his H.S. sweetheart, Lee in Dec. 1950 and together they raised their four children. The family was his #1 priority, but he also had a special love for cars and two years after his H.S. graduation he proudly joined the Ford Motor Co. in Mahwah, NJ, retiring after 30 years of service.

As his sons grew and joined Boy Scouting, John joined their leadership team, eventually becoming Scout Master. He enjoyed family outings and vacations, camping and boating. John was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Washingtonville and was a past member of Marriage Encounter and St. Joseph’s Prayer Group in Harriman, NY.

John leaves behind his wife, Lee after 66 years of marriage, two daughters, Debra married to Robert Coyle of Gardiner, Kathryn LoMeli and companion, Todd of Cornwall; two sons, John LoMeli of Washingtonville, and Steven LoMeli and wife, Karen of Monroe. Grandchildren: William Steo of Florida, Lisa Steo and husband Thomas Mileti of Cornwall, Jill Coyle and husband, James Disimile, Kevin Coyle, Nicholas LoMeli, Alyssa LoMeli, Gabriele and Gillian Curley; four great-grandchildren: Cameron, Adrienne, James, Jr., and Nicholas Disimile, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992 on Tues., Jan. 17, 2017 from 2 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wed., Jan. 18 at St. Mary’s RC Church in Washingtonville. Interment will follow at Cedar Hills Cemetery & Mausoleum, 706 Rt. 9W North, Newburgh, NY 12550.
