John J. McCann

John J. McCann of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest on April 12, 2016. He was 95 years old. John was born in Brooklyn, NY, on June 29, 1920, to Bernard and Alice Robbins McCann. John was a proud WWII Veteran who served with the 5th Army Air Corp. John was the Husband of Alva M. McCann.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle; he loved family reunions and just being around family. He was a retired Bus Mechanic for MABSTOA; he belonged to the Cozy Corner Anglers.

John is survived by his loving wife, of 65 years Alva M. McCann, at home: his children, Jim E. and his wife, Carole McCann, of Salisbury Mills, NY, Tom J. McCann, of Rockaway, NY, John F. and his wife Kathleen McCann, of Lake Mohawk, NJ and Larry M. and his wife Nora McCann, of Chatham, NJ; grandchildren Sean L. and his wife, Renae McCann, of Salisbury Mills, NY, James M. McCann and his wife, Danika I. Norey, of New Windsor, NY, Michael McCann, of Queens, NY, Brian J. McCann, of Hoboken, NJ, Matthew McCann and his wife, Elizabeth Gunn, of New York, NY, Christopher J. McCann, of Hoboken, NJ, Tara McCann, of New York, NY, Caroline McCann, of Chatham, NJ and Jennifer McCann also of Chatham, NJ; great grandchildren, Connor J., Eva M. and Brendan R. McCann; a brother, Alec and his wife Florence McCann, of Wilmington, DE, ; nephew, Rick Ueland and his wife, Joanne, of Mineola, NY; niece, Bobbe Ueland, of Williston Park, NY, as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by 2 brothers Bernard McCann and 2 sisters Mary Hannan and Catherine McCann.

Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm, at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home 20 North St Washingtonville, NY. 10992.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 10AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
