Katherine A Scott

POUGHKEEPSIE-Katherine (Kay) A. Scott of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born March 28, 1928 in Schenectady, NY, attended nursing school in Amsterdam, NY and worked for many years as a registered nurse and administrator at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY. She and her family resided in Wingdale until she and her husband, Robert T. Scott, relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1980, where she continued to work in nursing at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. Kay was preceded in death by Robert who passed away on January 9, 2005. She is survived by three sons; William and his longtime companion, Deborah Poole, of Pawling, NY; Richard and his wife, Maureen Haley of Freehold, NJ; Robert and his wife, Stephanie Whalen Scott of Poughquag, NY, along with four grandchildren Erin, Susan, Haley & Julianne, one great grandchild Taliyah, with another due very soon. While in Florida, Kay’s favorite hobbies were ballroom dancing, playing the organ, and golf (she was especially proud of the hole-in-one she attained at age 70).
