Katherine Sforza

Katherine Sforza of Washingtonville, New York, a retired secretary of the Washingtonville Junior High School, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Easter Sunday, at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, New York at the age of 98. She was born on December 22, 1920 in Manhattan to the late Frank Weber and Bessy Weber. Katherine was married for 61 years to the late Stephen Francis Sforza and had two children, her daughter, Lorraine Secor, and predeceased son, Stephen Francis Sforza, Jr. Survivors include: her daughter, Lorraine Secor, of Washingtonville, NY; her four grandchildren, Donn Stephen MacDonald, and wife, Amory; Jennifer Lynn Lake, and her husband, Matthew; Jodi Leigh Secor and Stephanie Kim Secor; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexandra Lake, Zach Lake, Joshua Lake, Michael Dillon, Anthony Rollo, Jr., Gianna Secor and Madelyn Gordon. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Valley View Nursing Home for their loving care and attention. A family statement reads: Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed. She loved taking her grandchildren to Seaside Heights, to the beach and boardwalk. Family dinners were important to her. They were full of laughter, conversation and more food. She loved trips to Atlantic City and Monticello Racino. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY.
