Kathryn Mary Haggerty passed away suddenly at home on January 30, 2020 at the age of 28. Kate had a loving and supportive family but addiction was more powerful and ultimately destroyed the hope and promise in her future. Kate was a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. She had no idea how beautiful she was and maintained a quiet presence despite being hilarious around those closest to her. Kate is survived by her father Arthur, stepmother Kathleen, brother Danny (Abby), sisters Jaime, Jackie, stepbrother Christopher (Jocelyn), stepsister Emily (Michael), and her nieces and nephews Jackson, Cole, Reagan, Riley, Dylan, and Kyle, her uncle Jimmy (Flo), and her furbaby Daisy. Kate was preceded in death by her mother, Karen, and twin sister, Kellie. Visitation is scheduled on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street in Washingtonville, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:30am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 42 Goshen Avenue in Washingtonville, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kate's memory to Catholic Charities Goshen Clinic for Addiction. Kate will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever cherished.

A beautiful, loving, intelligent girl taken way too soon. My heart goes out to all of her family, Artie, Kathy, Jamie, Danny and Jackie and all the rest of this big wonderful family, but especially Artie who raised his children with so much love. If Richie knew he would be so brokenhearted. I know she is in heaven with her mother and sister.

Dear Jaime and Family,
Words don’t express the sadness that overcame me when I heard Kathryn’s name in the intentions at Mass today. I will always remember your whole family being kind and welcoming as we grew up, including ever curious and sweet Kathryn and Kellie. My heart aches for you but is filled with the hope that the comfort and presence of family and friends keeps you strong and brings you peace.

Kate, you had such a sweet, gentle soul. I remember the first time Brittany invited you and Kellie to our house to hang out. The three of you giggling in her room. You were in 4th grade. She was the new kid at school and you were both so kind and welcoming to her. The three of you became instant best friends. I will cherish all of those happy, wonderful times that all of you with Tess and Christina spent at my home growing into beautiful women. Know that you were loved so much by Brittany and I and we will miss you terribly.
