Kenneth M. Fais of Washingtonville, NY kissed his wife goodbye and died peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. He was 60. He was born in Hackensack, NJ to Donald and Ruth (Enste) Fais and grew up in Mahopac, NY.
In 1979 he married Valerie Geraci at Riverside Church NYC, where they both worked at the time. They lived in Washingtonville for the past 22 years. Ken worked for Equity Office Management and devoted his skills to award-winning energy conservation. He enjoyed camping, flying, and nature photography, and connected faithfully with old friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie; their children, Christopher and Kimberley; Ken’s siblings, Thomas, Douglas, John, Debra, and Dianne; and a close-knit extended family. Those who died earlier include his siblings, Janet and James, and sisters-in-law, Laura and Judy.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Goshen United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the hosting church, Hope Lodge NYC, or Eleventh Hour Rescue. All three were instrumental in Ken’s fortitude, providing him with community, comfort, and his canine companion, Kitty Hawk. The family thanks the palliative care doctor and the 2-North staff at St. Luke’s for their honorable service.
