Lyman "JR" Beal

JR Lyman Beal of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest on March 23, 2016. He was 72 years old. JR was born in Jonesport, ME on April 14, 1943, to Lyman and Ellouise Brown Beal. JR was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Viet Nam War Veteran. JR was the husband of Catherine McCabe Beal.

JR was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; he was a mentor and coach to his children. JR was a wonderful and caring person with a big heart who loved playing pool and poker at the VFW. JR was a member of the VFW post 8691 of Washingtonville and the AMVETS of Washingtonville, NY.

JR is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Beal, at home: his children: Patrick and his wife, Priscilla Beal of Wappinger Falls, NY, Sabin Tanner of Orange County, NY, Gregory Beal of New Hampshire, Randall and his wife, Colleen Beal of Massachusetts and Lee Beal also of Massachusetts; 4 grandchildren as well as many siblings, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 28th with a service to follow at 8 p.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992. Cremation will be private and JR's cremains will be inurned at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY at a later date.
