Meg was born in Newburgh, NY on April 10, 1961 to the late Richard J. and Joyce M. (Mahon) Lyons.
She Married James W. Gilettte, Chief Master Sargent (Retired) of the 105th Airlift Wing on September 19, 1999.
For many years Meg worked in the cosmetics industry and provided people with friendly, helpful advice. She then became a bank teller with First Federal Savings of Middletown and retired after 15 years.
Meg enjoyed time spent on their boat, even if it never left the dock! She learned to scuba dive and together they explored the undersea world of the Caribbean. Although Meg was not competitive in nature, she enjoyed the annual Air National Guard bowling tournament and was proud of the last place trophy Team Gilette won. Jim taught Meg how to use a pistol; she was accurate with her target abilities and earned her “Full Carry Permit.”
She is survived by her beloved husband, James W. Gilette; loving brother and sister, Christopher J. Lyons and his wife Sharon and Beth A. Lyons Sawicki and her husband Philip and her niece and nephew, Katlyn Hartfelder and Gerard Sawicki. Meg was like a grandmother to Ben, Kai and Rowan. She will be missed by many cousins, several close friends and Patsy, too!
