Miriam White

It is with heavy hearts that we the announce the passing of Miriam White, 78 of Washingtonville, NY. Miriam peacefully passed away on October 27, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1946 in the Bronx, NY to her loving parents Leandro Ortiz and Victoria Gonzalez of Puerto Rico. She also was an identical twin to her sister Norma Ortiz, who predeceased her a few years earlier.

Miriam is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James J White, Jr of Washingtonville, NY, her loving daughter Lisa White of Washingtonville, NY, her loving son Christopher White of the Bronx, NY, her loving daughter,Jennifer McCarthy of New Hampton, NY, her loving granddaughter, Kassie McCarthy of New Hampton, NY, her loving grandson Shane McCarthy of New Windsor, NY, along with his loving girlfriend Maria Mazuca of New Windsor, NY and her loving granddaughter Maryanne White of the Bronx, NY.

Miriam is also survived by her loving brother in law John J White of Monroe, NY, her sister in law, Rita White of Monroe, NY, her loving niece Gina White of Monroe, NY and her beautiful niece, Tricia White who was taken from us way too early. She is also survived by her loving sister in law, Maureen McFadden of Milford, CT and loving niece Suzanne McFadden of Milford, CT, as well as many cousins throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Throughout her life, Miriam was an avid gardener. She had the most beautiful gardens anyone would have ever seen. She thrived in that realm. She also loved animals. She was particularly fond of all of the fur babies that came into her life, such as Murphy, Deacon, Molly, Finley, Loco, Rumor, Diesel, Mayhem, Toro, Sir, Ragnar and Hudson. She loved all of them so much and they loved her just as much.

Visitation services will be held on Friday November 1, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday November 2, 2024, 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2 Fr.
