Nicole G Mendola

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Nicole Gabriella Mendola. Nicole was born on June 27, 2000, in Middletown,NY. She resided in Washingtonville, NY. Nicole passed away on November 16, 2025 at the age of 25 after a long battle with cancer.

She was a radiant light whose kindness, love, and fierce strength touched everyone who knew her. Nicole was known for her generous heart and the way she made others feel loved and cherished. She had a gift for bringing joy to everyone who crossed her path.

Nicole was a 2018 graduate of Washingtonville high school. She attended Orange Community College for 2 years with a dream of becoming a nurse. Her summers were dedicated to working at Sunrise Day Camp, where she was an art counselor for children with pediatric cancer.

Nicole was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her mother Jennifer Crockett, brother Salvatore Mendola, and the light of her life, her sister Madelyn Mendola. She is also survived by her Uncle Eugene Crockett (Christina), and Aunt Laurie and Lisa and great aunts and great uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her father Nicholas Mendola, Uncle Jimmy Mendola, Godfather John O’Hare and grandparents Salvatore and Betty Mendola, and Susan and Eugene Crockett Sr.

Though her time here was far too brief, the impact she made will last a lifetime. Her kindness, great strength, and her beautiful spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

She had a special place in her heart for the many Washingtonville teachers and staff, the nurses and doctors at Maria Fareri Children’s hospital, and the special people that she met along her journey of life that became her best friends.
