Phyllis was born in Buffalo, NY on May 1, 1949 to Donald and Margarie Jones Wood. She was the wife of William C. Eich.
Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and dearest friend. Phyllis was a member of the NRA and the NHRA and owner of Pro stock racing team and top sportsman. She was devoted to her family, extended family as well as her friends that she would cook for as if they were her own family. Her one fear in life was walking in the ocean and going in water over her ankles, but she loved vacationing with her daughter and granddaughter at the beach. One thing Phyllis was very proud of was her Dad, who was a World War II Army veteran, who served in four Campaigns and was awarded four Purple Hearts and made her who she was today. She is survived by her husband, William C. Eich of Rock Tavern, NY; children: Paul Wood of Florida, Shane Wood of Albany, and Sonya Wood of Rock Tavern; stepchildren: Kevin Eich of Newburgh, Eliot Eich of Buffalo, Denise Nati and Kelly Eich, both of Buffalo; grandchildren: Victoria "Maggie" Burris, Ryan, Darren and Erica Eich, Mickey, Cory and Jenine Nati and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Griff Lanthier of Buffalo and a sister, Patricia Goulding, also of Buffalo, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Wood and her sister, Urlyn Wood. Visitation will be on Friday, February 8th, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a service to follow at 8 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Thomas A. Murray of David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992, 845-496-9106; for further info or to leave condolences or a fond memory of Phyllis for the family, please visit our website at www.davidtfergusonfh.com
