Ruth L. Newkirk, 94, of Washingtonville, NY, entered into rest on February 23, 2010 at home. She was 94.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 5, 1915 to John J. Moran and Catherine L. Jordan.

She was a retired Senior Account Clerk for Orange County Office for the Aging. Ruth was a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Ann, President of Rocky Knoll Seniors, 60 Plus Club of Blooming Grove, Newburgh National Club, member of F.I.S.H., Organizer and Charter member of The Country Store, B.G. and Washingtonville Senior Councils. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Ruth was the widow of Robert B. Newkirk.

She is survived by her sons, Robert B. and wife, Victoria Newkirk of Albemarle, NC and Charles J. Newkirk of Walden; daughter, Joan Donovan of Red Bank, NJ; brother, Harry and wife, Marlene Moran of Summitville, NY; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as her dear friend, Mae Daly. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ruth Ann Buck and three brothers: Robert, William and John Moran.

Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday Morning, February, 27 from 9am-11:30am at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 27, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Washingtonville. Cremation is private.
