Theresa Schiavone

She was born in New York City on November 7, 1923 to Antonio and Laura Vascello. She was married for 67 years to Joseph Schiavone who entered into rest on April 12, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Giardiello and life partner, Sue Massi; her grand-daughter, Kristen Giardiello and numerous nieces and nephews. A lover of people who made everyone feel comfortable in her presence, she made friends easily where ever she went. She loved to laugh, tell a joke, or recount a story. A wonderful listener and a keeper of confidences, her heartfelt words of wisdom were always a comfort. She was known for cooking delicious Italian meals – sprinkled liberally with large amounts of love. The epitome of a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister – and considered a "best friend" by many. She will be sorely missed, and always remembered, by all who were lucky enough to know her and feel her warmth. Visitation will be on Sunday October 9 from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home in Washingtonville, NY. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday October 10th at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery Newburgh.
