

Thomas Francis Hanlon, Jr. entered into eternal peace on January 24th, 2018. He was born on March 14th, 1929 in Northampton Hospital located in Massachusetts to Thomas Francis Hanlon Sr. and Martha Becker.
Thomas was the oldest of three children. Growing up during the tough times of the depression and World War Two shaped his life. As a young man he helped care for his younger brother and sister, while working at various part time jobs and graduating from Easthampton High School. Upon graduating from High School Thomas entered the United States Navy and proudly serving on the SS Sabine before being honorably discharged.
Thomas met his love Angela Amatetti at work and they married on August 20th. 1955.
Thomas worked earnestly pursuing a career as a Linotype operator. The final 42 years before his retirement was with the New York Law Journal. Thomas also re-enlisted with the US Navy as a reservist where he remained an active reservist until retiring at age 60.
While raising his children and grandchildren, Thomas was a coach with the Washingtonville Little League and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert and his wife Jean, his brother in law Pat and wife Connie, sister in law Bella and her husband Ralph and his daughter Judy.
Thomas is survived by his wife Angela, his sons, Thomas and his wife Kimberly and Jody and his wife Billie. Other survivors include his nephews Bart Amatetti and his wife Sherri, Anthony Amatetti, Richard Hanlon and his wife Maryanne, and his niece Rosemary. Thomas was very proud of his grandchildren Lauren, Ryan, Shane, Grace, Gina, Claire, Thomas and Nora.
The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care that he received while a resident at Park Manor and his care at Premier Dialysis Center.
Thomas funeral mass on Saturday, January 27th at 12:30 at St Mary’s Church in Washingtonville. He requested that instead of flowers donations be made to St. Jude.
