Thomas M. Luther February 21st, 1965 – January 12th, 2021

On Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, Thomas M. Luther, loving husband, father of two children, brother to one, and grandfather to one passed away at age 55.

Thomas was born on February 21st, 1965 in Nyack, NY to Mason and Madeline Luther. Thomas was an owner and partner of Vista Electrical Contractors Inc. where he dedicated 34 years doing what he enjoyed and loved. On June 14th, 1987, he married the love of his life Lisa Luther and they raised two sons, Michael and Jason.

Thomas was the epitome of a hard-working man and cared deeply for his family. His love for motorcycles, cars, and rock music made spending time with him a blast. He would never hesitate to lend a helping hand or even lend a shoulder to cry on. He loved traveling with his beautiful wife Lisa, watching his sons Michael and Jason succeed in sports, and playing with his grandson Salvatore.

If you’re gathering with friends and family pour yourself a drink, raise your glasses, and make a toast to Tom. We all know he’s up there somewhere holding a glass of Dewar’s smiling down on all the wonderful people he had the pleasure of touching.

I would like to extend a special thanks to the Messina, Koenig, McDonough, Moschetti, Macaluso, Morris, Toscano, Gentilcore, and Van de Flier families for shedding light on Thomas during his darkest days.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Mason, and his mother, Madeline. Thomas is survived by his wife Lisa, son Michael (wife Stacy, grandson Salvatore), son Jason (Rachel), sister Kathy, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at Ferguson Funeral Home 20 North St, Washingtonville, NY 10992 from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 16th, 2021 from 11-12 pm at St. Mary’s Church 42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY 10992. Flowers may be sent to Ferguson funeral home. Donations in Thomas’ name can be made out to Memorial Sloan Kettering or St. Jude’s Hospital. So sorry to learn of Tom’s passing. In a business relationship I was able to conduct business with 3 generations of the Luther family while calling on Vista Electric. There was Tom’s dad Mason, Tom himself, and his son Mike. They were all a pleasure to deal with and Tommy always found time to talk with me even with his busy schedule.
Deepest sympathy to the Luther family during these trying times.

Our family is so very sad to hear of Tom’s passing. We have fond memories of time spent with him at Washingtonville Little League and Wizards baseball games. Tom was always a pleasure to talk with and our sons know his kindness and generosity first hand. Tom Luther is the nicest guy we’ve ever met in over 30 years of living in Washingtonville. We consider ourselves lucky to have known such a man. Our sincerest condolences to Lisa, Michael and Jason.
