as a result of COVID-19. He was 48 years old.
Tim was born in Queens, New York on August 19, 1972 the oldest of four children of James and Mary (Clynes) Conley. Tim and his family moved to Washingtonville in May 1973 where he resided for the rest of his life. Growing up, he was an excellent young athlete who played CYO Basketball, Little League Baseball, Pop Warner Football, and Washingtonville Soccer. He graduated from Washingtonville High School in 1991. At WHS, he was the co-captain of the football team, played baseball and ran track. During the summer of 1990, he earned a Silver Medal at The Empire State Games in baseball. After graduation, he attended Longwood College for two years, and then went to Orange County Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree. Tim went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY New Paltz and was in the process of completing his Master’s Degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Tim started his career in public service working for the City of Newburgh Recreation Department; first as the Head Lifeguard, then as the Pool Manager and finally as the Senior Recreation Leader. At the time of his passing, he was working as a Recreational Program Leader at Green Haven Correctional Facility.
During all this time he continued his love of sports by umpiring baseball and softball and officiating football and basketball throughout Orange County. He was a member of the Orange County Baseball, Softball, Football, and Basketball Officials Associations, in some of which he was a life member. Tim also officiated various intramural activities at West Point.
Tim was a parishioner of St. Mary’s RC Church Washingtonville. Tim is survived by his parents Mary and James, his brother Brian (Michele), niece Nora, his brother Daniel (Jessica), nieces Kylie, Kenzie, Piper and nephew Mason, sister Kerry (Seamus), nephew Liam, and nieces Adalyn and Kiera. He is also survived by Aunts: Barbara Conley, Cecelia Russo (God mother) Sr. Lucile Clynes, Uncle William Clynes (Joann), cousins Joseph, Christine, Katherine, Michele, Cynthia, Mallory, Kelsey (Goddaughter), and their significant others and numerous second cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Francis and Wilma Conley, William and Mary Clynes, Uncle Joseph Russo (Godfather) and nieces Delaney and Quinn.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are postponing a funeral service until the pandemic improves. To honor Tim, when possible, get your COVID-19 vaccine.
