Walter J Santer, 76, of Blooming Grove, New York, passed away on November 3, 2019 at Westchester Medical Center. Walter was born in the Bronx, New York on Ocotober 8, 1943 to Walter and Elizabeth (Conroy) Santer. Walter graduated from All Hollows High School in the Bronx. He received an Associate’s degree from Pace University. Walter and Celia (Marino) Santer were married on June 4, 1966 in the Bronx. Surviving is his devoted wife of 53 years Celia at home. Beloved father of Christine Burke, Tom Santer, Kathy Schindler, Matt Santer, Loving Grandfather to Nine. Walter was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed fishing. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Visitation will be on Thursday Nov. 7 from 4-8 pm at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday Nov 8, 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Washingtonville. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to The WEL Foundation/ Walter & Edward Luedke Memorial Foundation/ John F Luedke.
