Wilda Maurice

Wilda Maurice was born on October 8, 1934 and passed on August 6, 2025 surrounded by loved ones and family. She is survived by her five children; Yvette, Margarette, Edwin, Esther and Wilda. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Daniela, Luke, Djames, Pierre Jr., Aunis, Edwin Jr., Ashley, Samantha and Carl as well as eight great-grandchildren, numerous stepchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Wilda Maurice lived a full life filled with love. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti she was raised by Josaphat Maurice and Anne Louidore and was the fourth-born child out of five siblings. As an adult, she raised her five children in Port-au-Prince before immigrated to the United States in 1975, where she built a strong foundation and worked hard to support her family. She raised all of her children with unconditional love, instilling into them the values of faith, unity and perseverance. That is why we can gather here, united today to celebrate her life and homecoming.

Her home was always filled with laughter, stories and the comfort of family. She has created a legacy of love and togetherness for her family that will forever be cherished. Deeply rooted in her faith, she always held God at the forefront of her life and allowed his guiding hand to walk her through it. Known for her kind heart and playful spirit, she taught us the importance of grace, resiliency and cherishing every moment. Whether it was through her wisdom, infectious smile, or the way she made everyone feel special, her legacy will leave an imprint that will never fade.

You may have known her as a Mother, Ma, Tante, Grandma, Sister or friend - but we all know that she is the thread that holds us together, and her memory will live on in the heart she cherished so deeply.

A visitation will be held at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, located at 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992, on August 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at The Church of St. Joseph, located at 245 N Main St, Spring Valley, NY 10977, on August 15, 2025, at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow the funeral mass at St Mary's Cemetery, located at 2 Fr Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, New York 10992.
