

William DiMaggio, of Monroe, NY entered into rest on December 2, 2015 at home, he was 100 years old. William was born in Bronx, NY on November 19, 1915 to the late Pietro and Maria DiMaggio. William was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. William was a member of the 60+ Seniors of Blooming Grove and the Blue and Gold Seniors of Washingtonville. He was a WWII Veteran and retired from NYC Sanitation Department. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville. Williams family would like to thank Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties as well as the staff at Orange Regional Medical Center and Elant at Goshen for the care they gave William. “After I am gone, don’t be sad; Just always remember the good times we’ve had. My life has been full with great family and friends; And I’ll always be with you wherever your road bends. So go and raise a glass, have a toast or two; and always remember, I love all of you”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florence DiMaggio; daughters, Lucille and her husband Richard McGrail, Diane DiMaggio and Florence O’Malley all of Monroe, NY; four grandchildren, Richard, Christine McGrail and her husband Allan Avendano and Kevin and his wife Kimberly McGrail and Ian O’Malley; three great- grandchildren, Ryan Avendano McGrail, Liam and Jackson McGrail; Sister-in-law, Bella DiMaggio of LI, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by four brothers and one sister and his son-in-law Denny Zeitler.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 6 from 6-8pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St Washingtonville, NY 10992. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, December 7, 11am at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville. Private cremation will follow.
