

Cecile L Landry 100, a resident of Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville died, November 8, 2011 at the Maine General Medical Center, Thayer Campus in Waterville after a short illness.
Cecile was born in Disraeli, Quebec, on February 7, 1911, a daughter of Henri and Rose Anna Giguere. She was the 17th child of 22 children. Cecile was 9 years old when the Giguere family moved from Canada to Fairfield, Maine in 1920. Cecile was a member of the Corpus Christi Parish and Ladies of St. Anne.
Cecile spent her entire life in Waterville and wintered in Florida for many years. She married Fernand “Jake” Bizier in 1930, Jake died in 1972. Cecile is survived by her son Donald Bizier, who resides in St. Petersburg Florida. Cecile married Paul Landry in 1977, Paul died in St. Petersburg Florida in 1999.
Cecile maintained her home on Aubrey Street in Waterville for many years before moving to Lakewood in 2011 where she received excellent care in her final years.
Cecile had a long and successful career with C.F. Hathaway Co. in Waterville. She retired in 1975 as supervisor of stitching after 43 years of service with the company.
I addition to her parents, Cecile is also predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Donat, Joseph, Oscar, Albert, Paul, Antonio and Gerard Giguere; and her sisters Estelle Fortin, Armosa Jacques, Laurea Audet, Yvonne Hart, Bertha Begin, Meleda Giguere, Jeanne Giguere, Augustine Audet, Antoinette Loubier, Yvette Vigue, Lucille Roy, Marion Murphy, and Estelle Fortin.
Besides her son, Donald, Cecile is survived by her brother Lionel Giguere of Waterville and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Cecile's family wishes to thank the staff at Lakewood and the nurses on the second floor at the Thayer Campus for all the wonderful care given to her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 112 Silver St., in Waterville. Burial will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, 72 Pleasant St., Waterville, ME 04901; or Lakewood Continuing Care Activity Fund, 220 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Waterville, ME 04901.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.
