

Winslow – Charlene Dorothy Rollins, 76, passed away at The Hospice House in Auburn on January 8, 2015. She was born in Skowhegan, Maine, on November 28, 1938, the youngest daughter of the late Franklin and Arlene (Bussell) Washburn. She graduated from Solon High School in 1957 where she played basketball, was a cheerleader, and was a member of the band and chorus.
Charlene worked at the USDA FmHA for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 45 years and also belonged to the Society of Decorative Painters and Tole’n ME. She and Dennis loved to travel and enjoyed many sunsets together at the family camp. She was very creative, always making crafts, painting, making greeting cards and making various pieces of jewelry. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dennis; a son, Rick Rollins; daughters, Valerie Hanscom and husband Ed, and Sheri Corriveau and husband Matt. She also leaves two granddaughters, Samantha Rollins and Christina Corriveau; three grandsons: Alex, Kenny and Gregory Hanscom; a sister, Ramona Morin; her aunt, Natalie Litchfield; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her best friend and painting partner, Rita Hussey.
She was predeceased by her siblings Edric, Glendon (Toppy) and Rowena Washburn.
At Charlene's request there will be no visiting hours or funeral. A celebration of Charlene's life will be held in the spring.
