

Waterville - Dorothy Pauline Lennon, 84 of Waterville passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Mt. St. Joseph's Nursing Home peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waterville, Maine a daughter of the late Joseph and Celina (Nadeau) Caron. She attended local schools and proudly completed and received her high school diploma in 1987.
In 1961 Dorothy married the love of her life, Dearld Lennon, Sr. and they were married for 37 years, at the time of his death, in 1998. To Dot, family came first and she and her husband raised their four children. She always put their needs before her own. She worked at Mammonth Mart, Keyes Fibre for 30 years and after her retirement in 1986 she worked part time at Dr. A.R. Amalfiatno's office as well as a personal care attendant for Helping Hands.
Dorothy had many hobbies including ceramics, which she and her husband would sell at the Canaan Flea Market, toll painting, camping where she found a her place to relax at the Green Valley Campground in Vassalboro and playing beano. Dot was a profound photographer who never quite mastered her craft. Her photos were often partials of her intended subject and often included part of her hand in front of the lens. She will always be remembered for her beloved Polaroid camera.
Dorothy enjoyed hosting parties at holidays with the most memorable being Christmas, Halloween, where she was visited by hundreds of kids, and the fourth of July for the wonderful firework displays which we would enjoy from the roof of her garage.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Dearld, 2 daughters Bonnie-Jo St. Peter, Debra Kirkpatrick and 2 sons Gary Lennon and Dearld "Nunu" Lennon Jr. She was also predeceased by all of her siblings, Antoinette, Donald, John, Christine. George (Che Che) and Arlene.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Diane Lennon-Danforth and husband William Danforth; her grandchildren whom she deeply cherished: Bridget and Joe Jabar, Nikole St. Peter and partner John Whitney, Scott and Karen St. Peter, Bobbi-Jo St. Peter and partner Robert Rodrigue, Tanya and Bob VanGorden, Jennifer and Shane Cagle, Timothy Lennon, and Derek Shaw. She also leaves her great grandchildren; Ryan, Justin, Jordan, Nicholas, Sam, Gabbie, Sadie, Ellie, Jacob, Bradley, Keelyn, Ethan, Brody and Matthew. She is also survived with Sister in Law, Marlene Caron, Brother in Law, Major Sylvester, Sister and Brother in Law, Connie and Lou Turcotte, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held at Veilleux Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11 from 2-4 and 7-9. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12 at Notre Dame Catholic Church at 11 Am. Interment will occur in the spring at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
