

WATERVILLE -- Germaine M. Corbin, 97, died Aug. 22, 2013 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit. She was a resident of Sunset Homes. She was born in Grand Isle, on March 18, 1916, the daughter of Emile and Laura (Cyr) Doucette.
Germaine married Claude A. Corbin in Grand Isle on Feb. 21, 1935. The family moved to the Waterville area in 1942. She retired after 29 years from the stitching department of C.F. Hathaway Co. in 1978. She was an active member of St. John's Church in Winslow, a volunteer at the Muskie Center, a member of the Eucharistic Association of the Blessed Sacrament and a member of Daughters of Isabella.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Claude; a son, Roger; two brothers, Leon and Paul Doucette; two sisters Celina Swiff and Estelle Parr; and a great-grandson, Daniel Clark.
Germaine is survived by three sons: Fernand and his wife, Doris, of Waterville, Maurice and his wife, Carolyn, of Kenneth City, Fla., and Gerald and his wife, Janice, of Winslow; six grandchildren: Anna Jean Burns and her husband, Robert, of Clinton, Brian and his wife, Dr. Donna DeBlasio, of Ohio, Michael and his wife, Andrea, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Kevin and his fiancee, Diana Flood, of Farmingdale, Kenneth and his partner, Shalegh Welch, of Winslow, and Laurie Denis and husband Todd, of Winslow; great-grandchildren: Rose Marie and George Burns, Hanna and Seth Corbin, Paige and Ross Corbin, Thomas Tibbetts, Dalton, Nicholas and Logan and Jocelyn Denis; and sister Lucienne Levesque, of Portland.
The family would like to thank the professionals who helped Germaine while she was at Thayer hospital especially Dr. Mark Sutherland and Dr. Cruz.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at St. John's Church, Monument Street in Winslow. Committal will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, she has requested that donations be made to the Blessed Sacrament Convent, 101 Silver St., Waterville ME 04901; or the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter, 19 Colby St., Waterville, ME 04901.
